Wipe the outer ear and the entrance of the ear canal of the person undergoing the candling treatment with a cotton bud dipped in oil, and gently massage the area around the ear. Light one candle and gently place it in the entrance of the ear canal of the person undergoing the treatment. Hold the candle upright until the flame reaches the burn line marked on the candle. Remove the candle from the ear canal and extinguish it by dipping the burning end into a bowl of water.
